Profile

Mathias Maes, born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 2002, is a Dentistry and Medicine student at KU Leuven. He gained experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as a visiting researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he worked on artificial intelligence applications in temporomandibular disorders. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Reinhilde Jacobs, he is currently working on his master’s thesis on the use of augmented and virtual reality in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry. He is driven by a strong passion for innovation in healthcare.
